Liverpool complete the signing of Jeremie Frimpong
The Oranje wing back will join Anfield from Bayern Leverkusen on a five-year contract for ?29.5m. The 24-year-old will act as a natural successor for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who announced that he would be joining Spanish giants Real Madrid on June 1st. The fee is thought to be steal, as Frimpong has put up incredible numbers for Bayern Leverkusen in the past two seasons under the management of former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso. He has registered in 14 goals and 12 assists in 64 games over the past two campaigns, and joins an Arne Slot side that has just won the Premier League with relative ease. Frimpong?s previous clubs include Celtic and Manchester City, and has made 12 senior caps for Oranje. Frimpong offers a different tactical profile: whilst Alexander-Arnold thrives as a playmaking full-back, Frimpong is a relentless wing-back who excels in high-pressing systems. He seems to be a perfect fit for the Reds, and Arne Slot will be excited to bed him into the squad next season.
